6. What if I can't take part over the weekend of March 5th-7th?

No worres, we understand you may have other plans. You can still sign up and play another night that week, or perhaps you can choose to make a charitable donation to the event or to a friend who is taking part? Wondering how to do that? On the homepage just click 'Donate to Event' to show your support.

7. Can I still participate if I can't make the live stream launch on March 5th at 8pm EST?

8. Do I have to participate in the contests?

Absolutely not! These are optional for you to take part. You can find out all the details about the contests (and the rules!) on this page.

9. What will the money raised support?

The funds raised will help us to continue to grant life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses! When children are battling a critical illness, so much of normal childhood is taken away from them — it is exhausting, both emotionally and physically. A Wish is something that gives kids the opportunity to look outside their illness — it restores a sense of childhood back to the child and normalcy back to the family.

10. Can I play with people across Canada?

YES, you can! If 2020 taught us anything, it's that we can connect with our loved ones across the country. We offer many online game options that would be perfect if you want to play with friends or family across country, or perhaps you want to try make a traditional family game virtual.

11. Can anyone sign up?

ANYONE AND EVERYONE! We have lots of ideas and handy tools for the whole family to enjoy. Whether you want to play with young kids, the whole family, your colleagues, or your friends, we have a game for you.

12. Why is the event hosted by Honda Canada Foundation?

Honda Canada Foundation has been a proud supporter of Make-A-Wish now for the last 10 years.

Established in 2005, Honda Canada Foundation (HCF) aims to enable the realization of dreams through various annual philanthropic activities and funding to non-profit registered charities across Canada where Honda customers and associates live, work and play. HCF focuses on four key pillars – family, environment, engineering and education—and endeavors to donate more than $2 million each year to groups in need. More than 6.5 million Canadians have benefited from Honda Canada and Honda Canada Foundation funded charitable programs. For more information, please visit www.hondacanadafoundation.ca.

13. What does a match-giving event mean?

A match- giving event means that Honda Canada Foundation has committed to match the contributions of others up to a maximum amount of $25,000 during the Play for Wishes weekend event. This means if our generous supporters raise $25,000 over the weekend, then the Honda Canada Foundation will too top up the donations by $25,000 helping to support more kids wishes!

14. How can I see what other people are playing over event weekend?

The best way would be to follow along with what others are up to would be to follow along on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. You can use the hashtag (#PlayForWishes) to join in the fun.

15. Can I get my workplace involved?

Yes for sure! That would be a great employee engagement and philanthropic initiative. It would allow your entire workplace to get involved. As we are working from home, we have some great virtual online games to check out which would make for a perfect social Friday get together!
