Make-A-Wish^® (MAW) is the world’s leading children’s wish-granting organization, serving communities across Canada by creating life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Our mandate is to bring every eligible child's wish to life. 

The holidays are a time like no other, when we watch, and we remember the magic of what it is to be a child. This year especially, many of us will feel a sense of hope and joy we haven’t known for a very long time as we reconnect with family and friends to celebrate traditions together.  But for children with critical illnesses, a life of uncertainty remains.  ​Robbed of the simple joys of childhood, sadly hospital stays, doctor’s visits and painful treatments are their “normal”, even during the holiday season.   

The COVID-19 Pandemic is the greatest financial challenge Make-A-Wish Canada has ever faced. Compared to pre-pandemic levels, Make-A-Wish has experienced a 30% decline in donations, a result of the cancellation of many public-facing fundraising activities. Our team continues to work tirelessly to deliver wishes for children within the limits of COVID-19 and address the significant backlog of wishes resulting from the pandemic. We need you to bring our donation levels back to what they were before COVID-19, and help to grant even more wishes for children facing critical illness.
