Chloe was diagnosed with a heart condition, and when she was fitted with a pacemaker, the energetic pre-teen no longer experienced cardiac symptoms. Her cardiologist noted that Chloe isn’t even aware of discomfort from the lifesaving cardiac pacing device. Chloe’s special wish to visit Toronto and Niagara Falls, with her parents and little brother Daxon, took place last August. The family stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge Water Park Resort and even had the chance to venture into the basin of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls on a Hornblower Cruise. "This was the most fun ever," exclaimed Chloe. “The Great Wolf Lodge was the coolest hotel ever and we really enjoyed the buffet.”
Chloe’s parents said the wish experience gave the family memories that will always be cherished. Chloe’s trip was originally scheduled for 2020 but was rescheduled due to the pandemic. “I know what it feels like when you are waiting forever, especially with COVID-19, but when it comes, the wish is greater than you even anticipated,” her mom Julia said. Julia was pleased that Chloe’s little brother Daxon could also participate in the experience. “(Chloe and Daxon) each had a great time and we all appreciated how he was included by the volunteers and
coordinators.”
Hope is essential for children with critical illnesses, and its life-changing power is unlocked when wishes like Chloe’s are granted. Together we can continue to transform lives, one wish at a time.
