The 2018 Make-A-Wish® Rope for Hope national fundraising contest has closed and we have a winner! Congratulations to Steve Lawson, member of Team Chloe at Rope for Hope Ottawa. Steve himself raised more than $6,000 and his team collectively raised over $18,000! Steve won the Make-A-Wish® Canada national fundraising contest prize draw for a one-week getaway for two to Costa Rica, courtesy of WestJet and Monograms.
Steve’s daughter, Chloe, 16, lives with obstructive sleep apnea, Down syndrome and related health complications. Her wish will be granted by Make-A-Wish® Eastern Ontario and Steve wanted to give back to help grant life-changing wishes for more kids like Chloe.
“It floored me just how generous people are. People were donating $100, $200, $300 each. Event day was a sunny, beautiful day. It was a really well-organized event and I felt super safe stepping off the building,” says Steve. “It’s a character-building event and I enjoy challenging myself.”
