Don't wait for hope... create it!
Make-A-Wish creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We are on a quest to bring every eligible child’s wish to life, because a wish is more than a "nice to have." A wish is an essential component of a child’s treatment protocol.
For the wish children and families we serve - finding hope in challenging circumstances is something they have been doing long before any of us heard the world "lockdown." Robbed of the simple joys of childhood, sadly hospital stays, doctor's visits and painful treatments are their "normal."
WHEN A WISH COMES TRUE, IT CREATES STRENGTH, HOPE AND TRANSFORMATION
In 2019, we granted over 1,600 life-changing wishes. But as we all know, 2020 was different - and as a result of COVID-19, thousands of wishes are now waiting.
We need your help to make sure that when life returns to normal, no child waits one day longer than necessary for the life-changing power of a wish because hope is essential for children living with critical illnesses.
A WISH BEGINS WITH HOPE AND HOPE BEGINS WITH YOU
"The best prescription I've ever given, is a wish."

When children are battling a critical illness, so much of normal childhood is taken away from them — it is exhausting, both emotionally and physically. A wish is
something that gives kids the opportunity to look outside their illness — it restores a sense of childhood back to the child and normalcy back to the family.
A past Wish Impact Study that surveyed parents, health professionals, and volunteers, show that a wish-come true empowers children to fight harder against their critical illnesses. In addition, the study revealed how impactful wishes are, not only to the children receiving them, but to the child’s family, the medical professionals treating them and the volunteers assisting with the wish. Wishes touch communities and transform lives.
79% of wish children who are now adults confirm that their wish experience marked a turning point in their treatment and recovery.
97% report improved mental and emotional health because of their wish experiences.
