Early bird registration is from January 25 until May 1, 2023, which means any team that signs up between these dates, must raise a minimum of $3,600 to participate. After May 1, 2023, the minimum fundraising requirement becomes $4,200 per team.

Can a team be more than 6 participants?

No, the maximum of participants is 6.

Is there an age limit to participate?

There is no age limit for this event. If the participant is younger than 17 years old, a release must be signed by a legal guardian.
If you are interested in having a full team of children under the age of 17, please contact us directly at 48hourride@makeawish.ca

Why the minimum commitment of $3,600 per team is increasing to $4,200?

Our desire to transform the maximum number of lives of children with a critical illness was our main motivation.

During the first 13 editions, a very low inflation allowed the 48-HOUR RIDE to contribute in a very important way to change the lives of the children. The exceptional explosion of costs in the last 24 months (and it's not over yet) has had an important impact on our main objective of giving back the maximum of dollars to the Foundation in order to grant wishes for more children. This is why we are obliged to slightly modify (+ $100 per participant) the minimum amount to be raised at $4,200 per team to participate in the event.

As an indication, a fundraising of 3 600$ in 2007, year of the 1st 48-HOUR RIDE, should be the equivalent of a fundraising of slightly more than 5 000$ in 2023.

What happens if we are not able to collect the minimum fundraising requirement of of $4,200 ($3,600 for teams signed up before May 1, 2023)?

We are here to support you and help you achieve your team's goal. There are many ways to raise funds. Please visit our fundraising ideas page and/or contact us to discuss other options together.

If we are less than 6 participants per team, is the minimum amount to be raised $700* per person or $4,200* per team?

If you are less than 6 participants in your team you still need to raise the minimum fundraising requirement of at least $4,200. That is minimum amount per team of 6 or less. Please note that if you are less than 6 people, that means that you will have to divide the 48 hours up between less than 6 people. There must always be at least one participant from each team on the track.

* Early bird pricing states each team must raise a minimum of $3,600.

When are the donations due?

Fundraising is all year long. Donations can be sent at any time (online or by mail) or brought to the info/registration table before the event begins. Closer to the event the 48HV team will follow up with all the teams that have not started raising funds or have not yet achieved their goal to make sure they will have it at the event. Fundraising ends on September 30 of each year.

What happens if we collect donations, but are unable to participate in the event?

All funds raised are NON-REFUNDABLE. If you or a member of your team no longer wishes to participate in the event, you can ask someone else to replace you. Donations collected can be transferred to this new person to assist in their fundraising.
