Gary and Silver and kids moved to Woodlands in 1988 and wanted to meet their neighbours – so they thought a horse trail ride would be a great way to meet their community! Knowing that Children's Wish Foundation (now amalgamated with Make-A-Wish) had recently started a chapter in Manitoba, Gary and Silver were happy to accept any donations for the charity. Their first ‘Ride for a Child’s Wish’ raised $750.00. Fast forward to the present, Gary, and Silver’s ‘Ride for a Child's Wish’ has raised over 1.6 million dollars for children living with critical illnesses.

A Message from Gary and Silver:

We are happy to announce that our 33rd annual Ride for a Child's Wish/Family Fun Day is going to be held on Saturday, Aug. 26th, 2023. It is held every year at our farm near Woodlands, MB. Bring your horse for a 10-mile Horse Trail Ride or your motorcycle for a 250k motorcycle ride around the Interlake.

The registration for both the Horse Trail Ride and Motorcycle Ride starts at 9:00am. The day is filled with fun activities and great food! We have children's entertainment starting at 3:30 pm, with supper (consisting of pork and chicken dinner, baked potatoes, corn on the cob, coleslaw, with homemade beans and dinner buns) starting at 5:30 pm. At 7:00pm we have a Wish Auction, and the evening is closed out with a barn dance with a live band.  

All funds help raise money for Make-A-Wish Canada, Manitoba & Nunavut Chapter so that every child living with critical illness can realize their most heartfelt wish!

• Motorcycle Rides Registration starts at 9am | Location: Motorcycle ride meet at the at the Domo gas station on #6 hwy near Warren, MB
• Children’s entertainment: Starts @ 3:30pm
• Dinner (Chicken and Pork): Starts @ 5:30pm | $15 per person OR $40 family of 5
• Wish Auction: Starts @ 7pm
• Barn Dance to end off the day! | Attending the dance only: $10
