Local Heroes will put the power to grant a life-changing wish for a child facing critical illness in the hands of your team. Right now, we have over 180 kids waiting for wishes in Saskatchewan, with more being refereed every day. By joining this campaign, your team can transform a life with your leadership, heroism, and support.
However you decide to raise money, the impact your team makes will be life-changing for a child in Saskatchewan who is facing a critical illness. In granting a wish for a child with a critical illness, you will help them replace anxiety with hope, fear with strength, and sadness with joy.
Who can be a Local Hero?
- Local Heroes are frontline emergency response workers, such as firefighters, police officers, 911 dispatchers, paramedics, and more.
- Local Heroes are committed to raising a minimum of $10,000 – the symbolic value of a wish – to help fulfill wishes across the country.
- Local Heroes rally their communities to get involved through creative fundraising projects, events, and competitions.
- Local Heroes are true heroes in the eyes of wish kids and their families.
Your Impact
Make-A-Wish Canada constantly receives referrals for wishes, and continuously needs help from their local communities to provide hope for wish children and their families. Wishes require the joint efforts of volunteers, donors, and local heroes - like you - to ensure that enough funds are raised to fulfill all wishes waiting to be granted. With your commitment to raising the symbolic value of a wish - $10,000 - a wish in Saskatchewan will come true.
As a Local Hero, you can transform the life of a child with critical illness.
The Local Heroes Experience
Once you commit to Local Heroes, Make-A-Wish Canada will be at your side to support our teams' fundraising efforts with an online fundraising page, toolkit, powerful wish stories, and more. We are excited to speak with you about your fundraising plans and be there for you every step of the way!
