Dare to Wish

Make-A-Wish Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter are proud to announce a new program, Dare to Wish, spearheaded by volunteer Shawn Lewis. Shawn is well known in the communities around the Avalon Peninsula and beyond for his exceptional work with fundraising, advocating, and community leadership. We are so pleased that Shawn is actively fundraising for our organization as our mission holds a place close to his heart.

Every Child with a critical illness deserves to enjoy their childhood, but right now, referrals continue to rise, and many wishes are in waiting. In Newfoundland and Labrador in particular, we have over 25 wishes in waiting since October 1st, 2024, and we hope to grant as many of those this year as possible. Without volunteers like Shawn, we would not be able to grant the wishes of every eligible child in the province.

Without our community partners, it would not be possible to bring life-changing wishes to so many children and families across our province. Volunteer Shawn Lewis is seeking a donation of funds to be able to reach his goal of $40,000; the equivalent of 4 wishes.

ABOUT MAKE-A-WISH® CANADA  

Make-A-Wish® creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We are on a quest to bring every eligible child's wish to life because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness. Make-A-Wish Canada has granted almost 39,000 wishes over the past 40 years with 2,100 of them last year alone.
