For the 4th year in a row, I am participating in Make-A-Wish® Rope for Hope, rappelling down the Barclay Centre (15 stories!), to help grant the wishes of children living with critical illnesses. A wish come true helps children feel stronger, more energetic, more willing and able to battle their critical illness. For many of them, it marks a turning point in their fight against their illnesses.
While I am still terrified of heights, I don't think I can really use that in my messaging anymore. Each year I am afraid to go down the building, but each year I am so inspired by the amazing kids and families we meet through our Make-A-Wish® Family.
Lincoln's wish gave us more than we ever could have dreamed. Most memorably, family time together that was not defined by his medical condition. The opportunity to see how happy he was for the entire trip was truly the best medicine. Through Rope for Hope, we have the platform to fundraise and provide other kids and families with that same opportunity.
You can help make a difference too! Your support will allow the Foundation to continue to create powerful wish experiences, improving a child’s state of mind, replacing fear with happiness and helping them to feel like a normal kid again. Every donation counts. Your commitment will help move Make-A-Wish closer to their vision of granting the wish of every eligible child in communities across Canada.
