Welcome to my Kimmett Cup fundraising page!
The Kimmett Cup has become a highlight of each year for me and I will be participating again in February 2022. I'm excited to have my son Landon join me on the team again this year. While I'm really looking forward to getting out on the ice once again, I know that the real meaning behind Kimmett Cup is the difference we make to those in need.
In the words of the late Tristan Garrett (Children's Wish and Kimmett Cup Ambassador) "Giving back is one of the best things you can do. It is truly amazing the power that kindness can have. There are no words to describe the power of kindness."
Make-A-Wish’s mission is to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Make-A-Wish Canada is on a quest to bring every eligible child’s wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child’s treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight their illness. Make-A-Wish is the world’s leading children’s wish-granting organization, serving children in every community in Canada, and in more than 50 countries worldwide. All funds raised in Canada support Canadian children in our own communities.
To protect the health of wish kids and their families during the pandemic, Make-A-Wish has paused wish-granting that involves travel and gatherings until the end of the year. Right now, there are over 400 wish kids across Canada whose wishes have been postponed because of COVID-19 — and that number grows every day as this crisis continues. Life feels like it’s on hold for many of us right now and for kids fighting critical illnesses, waiting may not be an option. Make-A-Wish continues to grant life-changing wishes while keeping our wish families safe. When our generous donors and supporters come together during this time of stress and isolation, we can give a child hope, comfort and precious moments with their family.
