In 2012, I participated in the Make-A-Wish Rope for Hope campaign in memory of my late wife, Marty. That year, and every year since, I've had the good fortune to meet the children of Make-a-Wish and I'm always impressed with their courage and positive outlook. Some of them have even done the rappel with me. This year I'm returning for my seventh year to do the rappel - to help these kids realize their wishes, and to raise some funds for that purpose. In recent years, I've joined up with other climbers in the GTA and surrounding area, as part of a Toronto Climbers team, and last year 23 of us raised an amazing amount of $64,000. We don't find many ways to raise funds for a good cause and to have fun at the same time!
Our team's initial goal this year is $40,000, and my share of that goal is $4,000; you can help me reach these goals and make a difference too! Your support will allow Make-A-Wish® to create powerful wish experiences, improving a child’s state of mind, replacing fear with happiness and helping them to feel like a normal kid again.
