I am helping transform lives, one wish at a time!
My son Emmanuel was born with a Congenital Heart Malformation called "Transposition of the Great Arteries". He had his open-heart surgery at 7 days old, weighing only 4 pounds. He stayed in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit 41 days. There is nothing more worrisome for a parent then seeing your child sick.
Although I never utilized Make a Wish services, I did see the positive impact it had in patients lives and their families throughout Emmanuel’s hospital stay.
As we know, wishes are a powerful psychological intervention that bring to life the most heartfelt wish for a child (and) and their families, facing critical illness. Granting a kid's wish is extremely beneficial as it improves their mental & emotional health, enables them to spend quality time with their families. Most importantly, we have observed a reduction in fear and anxiety among kids and their siblings.
Did you know that a child is diagnosed with a critical illness every 20 minutes? With three new children facing critical illnesses each and every hour, the need for donations is continuous. Currently, there are 1,124 kids waiting for wishes in Quebec and I want to help make a difference in their lives.
That's why I have chosen to participate the Women for Wishes Campaign for Make-A-Wish® Canada this year: it is aligned with my "why" as well as Filo Import's "why".
I have an ambitious goal of personally raising $10,000 and I know with support from people like you, I will reach my goal! I’m one of 100+ women across Canada who are coming together to raise $1 million dollars in 2023. The money raised will help bring every eligible child's wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey.
