Hello!

My name is Dejan Pavlica and if you are visiting this page, you probably already know that people call me Dan or Deki but most of the people in the Serbian community call me by my last name because it is more unique than my first name - can you believe that?!?!

I am 36 years old and I live In Chelsea QC, with my wife Tijana and our 2 daughters Tara (5) and Klara (2.5). I have always been into sports and adventures and this July I am going for one that has a whole new meaning. I will attempt to run a 215 km section of the East Coast Trail, from St. John's to Cappahayden NL in 4 days. Joining on this adventure will be my good friend Simon Ferguson who is equally excited about this challenge.

At this point you are probably wondering why are you on this page. Well there is a very special reason for a very special boy. His name is Vukasin (5) and he is one of my 3 nephews. He lives in Ottawa, together with his older brother Nikola (7), younger brother Bogdan (almost 1) and his parents Radomir and Iva. Vukasin is one of the most dynamic, energetic, entertaining, loving children you will ever meet. He is my daughters best friend and often confused for her twin brother. Vukasin enjoys many sports but none more than soccer. He is in love with Lionel Messi, copies his every move, celebrates his every goal and even sleeps in his jersey.

In October 2017, Vukasin was diagnosed with Leukemia. Yes, Leukemia. It is hard for me to even write that down. Being a strong and brave boy that he is, Vukasin is fighting this evil form of blood cancer with enthusiasm and energy like I have never seen before in any human. This energy is transmitting on all of us in Vukasin's surrounding and it has giving me a motivation to a grant a wish for him. My goal is to raise donations to allow Vukasin to see Lionel Messi play in person in Barcelona. You can only imagine what would that mean to him.

I want to thank you for reading my story and sponsoring me on my quest to not only finish the 215km trek, but also getting Vukasin to Spain to see his idol.

You can follow me on Twitter and Strava @xcserb for my training progress and other updates.

Thank you!

Dejan
