Looking for an individual or team participating in this event?
We started Women Wish Granters because of all the incredible women who stepped up to not only raise money and rappel down City Hall, but surpass their fundraising goals year-over-year and raise awareness for Make-A-Wish to their powerful networks.
We were first inspired by Owen Veloso, A Make-A-Wish recipient whose wish was to be a firefighter. Shaun Mitchell (husband of Co-Captain Shalini) was one of the firefighters (also rappelling) who helped make the wish come true. We are now great friends with Owen and his family and know what a difference a wish can make. Veronica's (Co-Captain) god-daughter Jerzie Leduc started a fight with cancer at the tender age of 12 and we're happy to report she has beat it and had a wish granted. Her family vacation to visit a sloth sanctuary was just the break the family needed after years of stress and life in a hospital.
This year we are gathering our courage once again and participating in Make-A-Wish® Rope for Hope! The rappel will take place on Friday June 7th, at Toronto City Hall.
We have raised $135K over the years and we're hoping that we can help grant even more wishes this year! We're also looking for people who want to join in and fundraise and rappel with us! Are you interested in joining our team?!
