I am helping transform lives, one wish at a time!
This year, I’m showing up as a WOMAN FOR WISHES for Make-A-Wish® Canada, to help raise money to support Wishes for Children facing critical illness.
Having spent my entire Nursing career in Pediatric Healthcare, I know firsthand of the incredible challenges and suffering that these children and their families endure on a daily basis.
For most of us, it is certainly unimaginable to think of a child going through such suffering, but what we also know with certainty is this :
Wishes change lives.... and they change the illness trajectory for these children.
We hear 100% of the time from physicians that they see a greater resilience, tolerance for grueling treatments and therapies, and hopefulness for the future in children both before and after a wish has been granted. When a wish is granted, a child replaces fear with Confidence, sadness with Joy, and anxiety with Hope.
Wishes truly are a Wonder Drug!!
With over 70 children in our province currently waiting for wishes, the need is real and the urgency is great . At the average cost of $10,000 per wish, we need your help!
I am being joined in this effort by my daughters, Mackenzie and Landon, as well as a team of some of the most phenomenal and compassionate women that I know; as we set out to raise as much as we can in an effort to bring the joy and magic of a wish to as many elgible children as possible!
