Make-A-Wish creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We are on a quest to bring every eligible child’s wish to life, because a wish is more than a "nice to have". A wish is an essential component of a child’s treatment protocol.

For the wish children and families we serve - finding hope in challenging circumstances is something they have been doing long before any of us heard the world "lockdown." Robbed of the simple joys of childhood, sadly hospital stays, doctor's visits and painful treatments are their "normal."

You are helping grant wishes all across Canada, wishes like Elliot's! We are happy to introduce you to Elliot today, and please feel free to share his story to help you in your participation and fundraising journey!

 Elliot, 7
 bone disorder

Elliot is a 7-year-old boy living with a bone disorder. He was overjoyed when he learned he would be receiving a wish - and his mom told us it was as if he'd been awarded a medal of honour.

Elliot’s wish granting team was excited to deliver his wish, at a distance! They were able to celebrate his wish in the driveway, even though it was chilly. Elliot and his siblings were so excited to receive all his new electronics. It was an especially perfect time for them all to keep busy during the pandemic lockdown. Elliot’s dad says it best; “COVID was a damper on the experience, but it was still a very special event. The day Elliot’s wish was granted will be a memory for our family to cherish.

"Elliot and his siblings have been through a lot over the past few years. It was good to have him, his brother, and sister have something so special to come from what they have endured.” He added, “Make-A-Wish will forever hold a special place in our hearts. The banner from his wish day is prominently displayed in his new entertainment space. Elliot wears his wish kid shirt on a regular basis.” Elliot’s new electronics will allow him and his siblings to enjoy time together and make memories that will last a lifetime!
