Help me grant wishes to children like my brother !

My younger brother, Antonio, was diagnosed at birth with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, a critical congenital heart defect that prevented him from pumping oxygen-rich blood to his body and brain. For this, he underwent multiple heart surgeries, the first being at only 3 days old where his heart was the size of a peanut ! During the most difficult years of his condition, the Make-A-Wish Foundation granted Antonio his wish to go on a vacation, something that was considered unthinkable due to his multiple hospitalizations and recovery time. Along with his mother, father, sister and brothers, we spent 2 weeks in Hawaii, where he had his first experiences surfing, tropical sun-bathing and sipping virgin daiquiris. Antonio is 21 today, and despite some minor health setbacks, he continues to make the world a brighter place for his friends and family through his delicious cooking and wonderful sense of humor. 

As a way of giving back to this wonderful foundation, I've signed up for the Make-A-Wish® 48-HOUR RIDE -  a unique event where teams of 6 people ride – relay style – continuously for 48 hours to grant life changing wishes to kids with critical illnesses. It’s not a race, but a collective movement to get closer to granting more wishes, one pedal stroke at a time.

A child is diagnosed with a critical illness every 20 minutes. With three new children facing critical illnesses each and every hour, the need for donations is continuous.

Make-A-Wish's goal is to bring every eligible child's wish to life. In 2021, they granted over 900 life changing wishes and over 1000 in 2022. Challenges of the past two years made it harder to grant wishes. Therefore, there are still a big number of wishes waiting to be granted. These can not be granted without our support and your help!

That's why I'm participating. I've set an ambitious goal because I know with support from people like you, I will have a great chance at reaching it. The money raised will help bring every eligible child's wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey.
