This year I am taking the plunge again and participating in the 5km Foam Fest in support of Make-A-Wish® Canada. A wish come true helps children feel stronger, more engergetic, more willing and able to battle their life-threatening medical condition. For many of them, it marks a turning point in their fight against their illness.
I’m choosing to do this event in support of my nephew who has regular visits to the London sick kids hospital twice a year, and many others who I know, have children, nephews nieces fighting an illness.
I am dedicating this run to my father, Darren Barber, who passed away this year Jan 2nd, who always put us and his grandchildren first, whether it was watching his two grandkids, to being the dedicated driver for many of my sisters appointments to London and supporting us so greatly, his is dearly missed. I am also dedicating my run to my father in law Mark Bates; recently passed this year in April 29th. He always had an answer to your question and was incredibly supportive, a father and a grandfather who made it so easy to laugh and so involved with his family. He is also dearly missed.
