If you are interested in having a full team of children under the age of 17, please contact us directly at 48hourride@makeawish.ca.
What happens if we are not able to collect the minimum fundraising requirement of of $4,200 ?
We are here to support you and help you achieve your team's goal. There are many ways to raise funds. Please visit our fundraising ideas page and/or contact us to discuss other options together.
If we are less than 6 participants per team, is the minimum amount to be raised $700 per person or $4,200 per team?
If you are less than 6 participants in your team you still need to raise the minimum fundraising requirement of at least $4,200. That is minimum amount per team of 6 or less. Please note that if you are less than 6 people, that means that you will have to divide the 48 hours up between less than 6 people. There must always be at least one participant from each team on the track.
DONATIONS
How to receive a tax receipt?
Your receipt will be attached to the email you will receive within a few minutes of sending your donation. You can also download it from your account when you log in to the 48 HOUR RIDE website.
If you do not receive a receipt in your inbox within a few minutes of sending your donation, please check your Junk (hotmail users), Spam (gmail users) or Bulk (yahoo users) E-mail folder just in case the receipt email got delivered there instead of your inbox. If so, select the message and click Not Junk, to allow future messages to get through.
If you need more help, please contact the 48-HOUR RIDE staff at 514-488-9474 or 48hourride@makeawish.ca to receive a new tax receipt. Please send the name of the donor, the date of the donation and the amount.
I'd like to use my credit card to process someone else's donation, how does that work?
If you are looking to process a donation over your credit card for someone else, with the intention of the second party receiving a tax receipt, we require written consent from both the donor and credit card owner (credit card holder must state that they are consenting to their credit card being used for the transaction and acknowledge they will not receive a tax receipt, and the donor confirming that it is their donation and expect a tax receipt, must contain their name and address).
If you would like to proceed with EFT payment (no written documentation is needed) contact our donor care team at 1-888-822-9474 and they will be more than happy to provide you with the necessary information to complete the payment.
My donor gave me cash or cheque, how do I send that in?
Yes, cheques and cash can be mailed to the Montreal office. In order for the donor to receive a tax receipt (applicable to donations over $20), in the donor’s envelope with the cheque/cash please ask the donor to fill in a donation form. You can find the donation form here.
The address to mail cheque/cash into is: Make-A-Wish, Attn. Joanna Bernucci, 1255 Boulevard Robert-Bourassa, suite 810, Montreal, Quebec H3B 3W3
+ MUST INCLUDE A COMPLETED DONATION FORM!
When are the donations due?
Fundraising is all year long. Donations can be sent at any time (online or by mail) or brought to the info/registration table before the event begins. Closer to the event the 48HV team will follow up with all the teams that have not started raising funds or have not yet achieved their goal to make sure they will have it at the event. Fundraising ends on September 30 of each year.
What happens if we collect donations, but are unable to participate in the event?
All funds raised are NON-REFUNDABLE. If you or a member of your team no longer wishes to participate in the event, you can ask someone else to replace you. Donations collected can be transferred to this new person to assist in their fundraising.
