I am helping transform lives, one wish at a time!

I’m thrilled to be participating in my second Women for Wishes campaign 2024 for Make-A-Wish Canada. This year my dear friend, Maria Bell, is joining me on this campaign to raise 10k. We have started “LEGO for Wishes”. The way you can help is to donate your LEGO and spread the word to all your family, friends and colleagues, if they have LEGO laying  around  that their children are no longer playing with, please donate it to us by emailing legoforwishes@gmail.com . We will also provide instructions on how to get it to us.  We refurbish it and resell it.  All proceeds will go to Make A Wish.

As a parent and mother, there’s no greater calling than ensuring our children are happy, safe and living their best possible lives. Getting behind the mission and purpose of Make-A-Wish – which is to raise money to grant wishes to the most critically ill children across Canada – is easy.  Having personally been involved in delivering a wish and meeting with families that have been granted wishes, I’ve seen first-hand the positive impact it has – not only on the sick child, but their entire family. These families live with their child’s illness around the clock, and being able to inject a spark of joy with a granted wish is very gratifying. It touches you to the core.

Did you know that a child is diagnosed with a critical illness every 20 minutes? With three new children facing critical illnesses each and every hour, the need for donations is continuous.

I first became involved with Make-A-Wish through the 48-Hour Ride event in Mirabel in 2019, when FedEx became an official sponsor. We put together a few teams to ride in the event, and it was an absolute blast for everyone that participated. It made it even more satisfying knowing that we were doing it for an amazing cause. Getting to hear directly from the critically sick children waiting for their wishes to be granted, or witnessing a critically sick child being told their wish is being granted, is so heartwarming. I was so gripped by the entire experience that I raised my hand and asked how I could be more involved. Shortly after the event, I became part of the Quebec Advisory Board, and am now the chair of the Quebec Advisory Board.

That's why I'm participating again this year. I have an ambitious goal of personally raising $10,000 and I know with support from people like you, I will reach my goal! I’m one of 100+ women across Canada who are coming together to raise $1 million dollars in 2024. The money raised will help bring every eligible child's wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey.

Will you help us reach our goal by donating what you can, or gathering up your nearly new LEGO and donating it, so we can make wishes come true?
