ABOUT MAKE-A-WISH^® CANADA

Make-A-Wish® creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We are on a quest to bring every eligible child's wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness. As an independently operating affiliate of Make-A-Wish International, Make-A-Wish Canada is part of the network of the world’s leading children’s wish-granting organization. We serve children in every community in Canada, and in more than 50 countries worldwide.

IMPACT OF A WISH

Make-A-Wish provides children with an opportunity to dream BIG, a chance to return to their childhoods (if only for a day or week), and embrace the notion that anything is possible, especially the future. A wish isn’t just a nice thing to receive, it is essential to a child’s medical journey, providing optimism during a very difficult time. We are on a quest to bring every eligible child's wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment process. Research demonstrates children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight their illness. In fact:

• 97% of adult former wish kids report improved mental and emotional health because of their wish experiences

• 83% of adult former wish kids said that their wish experience improved their physical health and strength

• 71% of adult former wish kids believe the wish experience contributed to saving their lives
